To generate positive energy for breastfeeding mothers, enhance the interaction among breastfeeding mothers so that experienced breastfeeding mothers may share their experience and knowledge to new mothers.
Mothers shall get themselve ready for breastfeeding through consultation and interaction, so that they are able to give their new born children breastfeed in the shortest time.
Radiate the message of "Breastfeeding is not only the love of mother" to public whom fathers also should learn about the knowledge of breastfeeding in order to understand they are playing one of the important role in the journey of breastfeeding.
Dissemination of breastfeeding information, increase the self-confidence of breastfeeding mothers and reduce their stress which caused by the misunderstanding via talk and seminar.
To encourage employer for supporting breastfeeding and create a corporate environment which is suitable for breastfeeding.
Why do we need to support breastfeeding?
Breastfeeding is the normal way of providing young infants with the nutrients they need for healthy growth and development. Virtually all mothers can breastfeed, provided they have accurate information, and the support of their family, the health care system and society at large.
Colostrum, the yellowish, sticky breast milk produced at the end of pregnancy, is recommended by WHO as the perfect food for the newborn, and feeding should be initiated within the first hour after birth.
Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended up to 6 months of age, with continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up to two years of age or beyond.
Breast milk is the perfect gift for a baby. However, most of breastfeeding mothers is going through the breastfeeding journey under stress and critique.
Some mothers who lack of breastfeeding knowledge and find breatfeeding difficult and trouble so intent to give up on it.
Some mothers who very support breastfeeding, but they have to give up on it due to the pressure from their family members whom do not understand breastfeeding.
Many of working mothers who need to spare some working hour for expressing milk to avoid breast obstruction and insufficient food supply to a baby. Ironically, these mothers only can express milk in a narrow store room and even in a toilet. Moreover, there are no any refrigerator to keep breast milk. Instead of lacking proper breastfeeding facilities, breastfeeding mothers have to confront with challenges like colleagues and company management.
Breastfeeding mothers need to find lactation room for breastfeeding and expressing breast milk at public area.
Breastfeeding mothers have to bear under the stress of other's perceive while breastfeed their babies with nursing cover at somewhere corner.
Hotel facilities always is one of the concern during vacation. This is because breast milk need to be stored in the refrigerator to avoid spoiling after pumping out.If there are no refrigerator inside the hotel room, they wonder if any other refrigerator is available in the hotel.
Breastfeeding is the human nature, a right for a mother. However,there are many challenges a breastfeedig mother have to face in the real life such as misconcenption,unsupported family members, outsider discrimination as well as lack of the breastfeeding facilities in workplace and public area.
Therefore, we hope that we can promote, protect and support breastfeeding together and lead Johor to become the first state in supporting breastfeeding.
